Last summer brought some wonderful growth to our gardens. Even around Easter 2006, most plants where still in full flower. Please visit our Image Gallery
for more new photos.

Ughh, this nosy kid, no respect for the elderly! She thinks the whole world revolves around her. She keeps embarrassing me, and, if given half a chance, she even polishes my meal rations in next to no time. But just wait until I can start teaching her a thing or two about being a good dog. I and all our guests know what I'm talking about - because I really am a very good dog."

"ORNELLA! Is this really necessary?

Hello, here I finally am! It's me, Ornella, the new 'lady of the house' at Sam's Giardino! I'm cute, aren't I? These silly humans here told me that I'm supposed to be Einstein's girlfriend. Don't they realise that at 13 weeks, I do have other priorities in life?! First and foremost:
Fo-o-o-od, anything, any time, and beauty sleep, of course (you know, I still got a lot of growing to do, I'm a Bernese after all); playing is also great (if "they" get the rules right ... I win, always) and teasing my husband-to-be even better. But since he is such a terribly well-behaved and good-natured creature, I rather stick to the fun stuff like stealing laundry and checking our bowls for leftovers. If you want to meet me, hurry up, I
won't stay this small for ever!
And please don't tell anyone that I secretly admire Einstein, a lot, - he's my hero but what self-respecting female would let that on ... no ways!

On the topic of FOOD ... did you see our new kitchen already? That is my kind of place but unfortunately, I'm not allowed in there. So here I hand over to the humans around me to let them tell you all about it.
Ta-ta, yours truly, Ornella

P. S. If you'd like to see more of me, please visit the Newsletter pages of our small marketing community "Namibia's Special Selection".

Yes, we finally made our dream of a gourmet kitchen come true!
After weeks of plumbing, tiling, re-shuffling the cabling and plenty of wood works, we were very pleased with the results and celebrated the grand opening in March this year.
In May, we still added a pergola in front of the large window towards the garden to keep the temperature in the kitchen pleasantly cool also during daytimes. Now preparing delicious breakfasts and dinners for our guests is so much more fun and we are sure you will see and taste the difference too.
Please take a look at the many new photos we added to our website here and there - best you start paging through it right from the beginning to the very end.

And while we were at it, we also decided to upgrade the lounge area above the bar, which now houses a substantial part of our tourist information centre that had outgrown its earlier home in the TV lounge. More brochures, maps and other info material are made available to our guests to peruse at their leisure, and what better way to select your next day's activities from a wide range of exciting offers than while enjoying a glass of wine or a cup of freshly brewed filter coffee in cosy surroundings?

Next came the extension of our Enoteca Wine Restaurant - we grew it by incorporating a few square metres of where the open space in front of the previous entrance used to be.  Now there is enough space to accommodate another table with a cosy corner bench, one of those upholstered ones favoured by most of our guests. Unfortunately, the new corner unit had not yet been delivered when the photo to the left was taken - it will be placed underneath the painting and the two lamps on the far wall. These changes made it possible to install a new and much nicer fire place as well and so the ambience at breakfast will continue to be as comfortable as the one during dinner.

Come, see and experience all this for yourself - you will surely enjoy these improvements as much as we do!
